Few people enjoy visiting their dentist in Austin for a dental checkup and cleaning; however, our patients at MMS Family Dentistry will agree that our quality care and friendly team of dental professionals definitely makes the experience one worth looking forward to. We value our patients comfort and health, which is why we focus on providing everybody that walks through our doors with high-quality and thorough preventive dental care. We tackle the small problems before they ever have a chance to become more serious and cause permanent oral damage. With semi-annual visits to our practice, you’ll reduce your risk of developing severe health problems and keep your smile healthy and beautiful for years to come!
The first part of your semi-annual appointment is your checkup. We’ll ask you some questions about your overall health and if there are any diseases or conditions that run in your family, that way, we know what to look out for. If it has been awhile since you last had an X-ray, we may also take some images of your mouth to see if there are any problems lingering below the surface. Typically, we’ll only do this once every year.
We’ll examine your mouth in search of any symptoms or signs of common oral health problems like cavities and gum disease. If we notice anything out-of-the-ordinary, we’ll make a diagnosis and develop a treatment plan before we finish up your checkup with a quick oral cancer screening.
